For our GP practice in the well-organised and friendly Schalkwijk Health Centre, we are looking for a POH-S assistant from July 2026 to November 2026 for 24-36 hours a week due to maternity leave.
Who are we?
Our GP practice is located in the Schalkwijk Health Centre in Haarlem. Together with other disciplines, we provide primary care to 13,000 patients. Since 2006, we have been located in a modern building, which also houses a pharmacy, physiotherapy and psychologist and dietician practices, among others. In addition, we have a collaboration with a psychiatrist and an elderly team, including an elderly specialist.
GP care is provided by 6 GP practices, 8 doctor's assistants, 1 doctor's assistant with managerial duties, 5 practice-supporters-somatic and 4 practice-supporters-ggz and 2 practice-supporters- youth.
Schalkwijk Health Centre is a neighbourhood with a multicultural character, which is why the centre makes a special effort to ensure that its staff reflects this.
What we are looking for?
- Preferably someone who has (almost) completed the POH-S training.
- Has knowledge of the overall care process around DM, COPD, Asthma, and CVRM.
- Preferably familiar with Medicom (HIS).
- Works independently and methodically according to applicable guidelines and protocols.
- Enthusiastic, open in communication and able to work well with our chain partners and the various disciplines in our centre with whom we have low-threshold consultations.
- Someone who enjoys working with a diverse patient population, some of whom are from non-Western migrant backgrounds.

Physician assistant with management duties (approx. 28 - 32 hours per week)
At Schalkwijk Health Centre in Haarlem, several disciplines work together to provide primary care for 13,000 patients.

- Physician assistants in our practices are the first point of contact for patients and the central key figure for other colleagues.
- On the phone, you will answer a variety of help questions and give advice and information if required.
- You determine the urgency of the request for help at the right time.
- During daily consultations, you will perform various operations such as: giving injections, touching up warts, blowing out ears, taking smears, measuring blood pressure.

You can view your data, either through the GP or online. Online, you can view your data using your phone or computer, wherever you are. You log in to a secure website or app. You will see key information such as your diseases, your medications and results of tests.
If you have any questions about your results, you should call the practice yourself. Add the ‘’Call for an appointment’’ button, note white letters should be used.
For less urgent complaints, you can send us an e-Consult. Our practice will then usually answer your query within 72. Since you do not call, this saves us incoming calls and helps us spread out crowds.

Your (GP) doctor and pharmacies can connect their computers to the National Switch Point (LSP). Through the LSP, they can share your medical data. Another healthcare provider can view those medical details. The video below briefly explains how the LSP works when you come to the GP surgery.
