The first appointment

For a visit to the physiotherapist or remedial therapist, you do not need a referral letter from a doctor or GP. If you decide to visit the therapist directly, the therapist will determine what your health problem is during the first appointment. You may then be referred to a fellow therapist or GP. If you can be treated by the physio- or remedial therapist, he or she will start an intake, examination and treatment in consultation with you.

Intake and examination

At the first appointment, bring:

  • Possibly the doctor's referral letter
  • Valid identity document.
  • You will be asked for your contact details (date of birth, name, address and place of residence) and your health insurance policy

The therapist will discuss your health problem with you. Following this, an examination will take place and you may have to partially undress for this. The results are then discussed with you and a treatment plan is drawn up.
