Invitation to have the flu jab and the pneumococcal vaccine

Dear patient,

Autumn is on its way. That means it’s time again for the flu jab and the pneumococcal vaccination.

Have you received an invitation? If so, you will receive a letter at home in late September or early October.

When can you have the jab?

The vaccination sessions take place in the hall of the health centre:

  • Tuesday 27 October from 1.15 pm to 4.30 pm
  • Tuesday 3 November, from 1.15 pm to 4.30 pm

You can come along on one of these afternoons.

Who should have the flu jab?

You will be offered the flu jab if:

  • u aged 60 or over are;
  • you are under 60 and are at increased risk due to an illness or medical condition.

Who is the pneumococcal vaccine for?

You will be given this injection if you:

  • were born in 1966;
  • or were born to 1948 to 1952 inclusive.

You do not need to have this injection just once to receive. The jab then works your whole life.

Please bring your letter with you

Have you received an invitation letter at home? Please bring this letter with you to the vaccination session. We look forward to seeing you at one of our blood test afternoons!
