Practice nurse

The health centre employs several general practice nurses. These are nurses who, after additional training, take over certain tasks from the GPs, especially in the field of chronic care. The practice nurses work together with other disciplines at the health centre such as dieticians, the pharmacy, chiropodists and physiotherapists. There are daily consultations with the GPs.

Supervising and controlling people:

  • with diabetes (diabetes mellitus)
  • with high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • with cardiovascular diseases (e.g. heart attack or cerebral haemorrhage)
  • with chronic lung diseases ( COPD)
  • who need a lung function test
  • who want to stop smoking
  • assisting elderly people in the home
  • various tests and measurements such as: vascular examination of the legs (Doppler examination)
  • who participate in the Obesity Care Pathway

In particular, the practice nurses supervise people who are not (or no longer) undergoing treatment at a specialist hospital.

The practice nurses hold surgery hours on all working days on the 4th floor.
